Day 18 - Enontekio, Finland

Today was a 320 mile day but we didn't get rolling until 08:45 because they didn't open for breakfast until 08:00. The gooCcand news was that it was another blue sky day.  Can our luck with the weather hold? Sure hope so.

Seven sightings today of reindeer herds. One bull was hidden behind a car approaching me on a curve so I didn't see it until we were very close. Thankfully the guy just stood there and looked at us as we flew by at 100kph. Speaking of reindeer I did have reindeer steak for dinner. Very tasty but also lean.

About 160K into today's ride we reached, and crossed, the Arctic Circle. Have to admit it looked just like the same latitude in Alaska.

For the most part of the day the temperature was between 58/61 degrees. Very comfortable for riding when wearing a Goretex riding suit.

We rode about a mile into town to have dinner and came upon an Edelweiss group of sixteen. They had not yet come down for their buffet dinner so we didn't talk with them. What I can say is that our trip is costing about half what folks are paying. And for me half the fun is planning the Adventure.
